Breakfast
“Eat Breakfast like a
King, lunch like a prince and dinner like a pauper…”
Medical wisdom dictates that larger meals should be eaten early in the day, so as to
give the body a chance to burn the calories over the course of the day. Foods high
in carbohydrates, including cereals, breads and fruit are best eaten in the morning in
order to build up a store to last through the day.
At Little Saltcote, we believe that breakfast is an integral part of your stay, and we
hope to make it a memorable meal for all our guests.
We are therefore pleased to offer a choice of full English or vegetarian cooked
breakfasts, as well as continental alternatives. Special diets, such as gluten
free, can also be catered for with prior notice. Local produce is utilised where
possible including free range eggs from a local farm and award winning traditional pork
sausages from a Rye butcher.
Breakfasts, which are cooked to order as required, are normally served between 8 o’clock
and 9:30, although we can offer more flexible timings if necessary. The health
conscious will be pleased that we prefer to grill our sausages, bacon and tomatoes –
indeed the only part of breakfast that is fried are the eggs, and then only if you like
them that way as scrambled, poached or boiled eggs are also available as alternatives.
As well as the cooked part of breakfast, guests may help themselves to cereals fruit
juices and fresh fruit, and what with hot toast and a choice of conserves to complete
the meal, you really will agree with us that breakfast is the most important meal of the
day!
